Do You Make Your Own Pet Toys?

Do you make your own pet toys?  My kitty can find amusement in almost anything you can find in the house.  I've stopped trying to buy cat toys for my cat.  I just let her instinct kick in and let her tell me what the best cat toys are.   One day she started chasing a broken wine cork around the house. So I tied some dental floss on the cork and she was getting competitve and started playing tether ball with the cork.   She has a thing for batting at anything swinging in front of her.  When we went away for the weekend, she turned my tissue paper into confetti.   If finding the weirdest things to be amused with was an olympic sport, my cat would win top prize. She's a pretty good soccer player too.  Maybe she'll get a spot on a winning soccer team.

Got back from a long weekend at a friend's cottage. It was quite the weekend of shock and relaxation! It was a 3 hour drive to get there. About 10 minutes away from the cottage, our friend the driver lost control of the car on a dirt road and the car accellerated into a hydro wire off the side of the road in a small ditch. I was in the backseat sleeping, my boyfriend and driver in the front. I woke up to a really fast downhill roll. After the crash, we all got out and no one had any injuries. I walked away with a light bruise on my chin and a few scrapes on my fingers. I'm totally fine, but was in a bit of shock afterwards.

Lesson to be learned? Don't speed or make sudden movements with the steering wheel while driving on dirt roads.

Everyone who drove by was nice enough to stop to ask if everyone was fine and if we needed any assistance. The whole ordeal took 3 hours to resolve: get help, look for tow truck and getting assesments, and back to the cottage from the our friends the cottage owners. After the shock, we had good food and drinks, relaxed by the water, played an insane game of monopoly, got eaten by black flies on a hike, and went paddling in a peaceful lake in a canoe. Incredibly smooth traffic on our return considering the long weekend and the high number of cottage-goers.

Got back to Ebay with one nasty email from a potential buyer, all huffed up because I didn't answer emails over the weekend, even though I did mention it on my Ebay blog. Eh. Life is too short to get worked up about unpleasant emails. Sold a few items over the weekend. I was explecting one negative feedback from one customer and it turned out to be a positive one. Yay!

Got back in one piece to ship lovely items to all my patient and wonderful Ebayers!

I've recently moved houses, and my cat has developed some weird habits. She's always been a feet lover. She'll rub our feet lovingly if she really needs some attention and affection. If you put up a good fight she'll play fight with your feet.

New weird habit: She starting to rub her face all over a pair of shoes. She has no shame :) One time we had guests, and she rubbed her face all over our guest's shoes and proceeded to rub and sniff our guest's feet. Very embarassing.

All in all, she's a sweet kitty. Sweet, but strange.

MicroRevolt's KnitPro 2.0

Has anyone discovered MicroRevolt's KnitPro 2.0?  You can enter any image into the website and it'll produce a diagram for you to knit from.  It's so cool! I might try to make this bomb pattern and some music notes (not in the same pattern!) :D

What are your favourite patterns?

Hey knitters! What is your favourite knitting book or favourite knitting pattern for hats, mitts or scarves? I'm looking for a neat pattern. I like cables, seed stitches. I'm looking for some more intricate patterns to try, and adapt it for gloves, scarves and hats.

I like the this from www.poormissfinch.com

Knitting to the Web

Jazz hands! Hello!

I decided to start a blog to share my secret pleasure.... knitting! For a long time I've only been able to knit scarves with a basic knit and purl ribbing pattern. I love knitting
scarves to give away as gifts. Recently, I bought some double pointed needles and I started making mitts, gloves, hats, and even iPod socks! I finally learned how to read knitting patterns. It's very satisfying to master reading basic patterns.

I've been trying to figure out what my knitting styles and preferences are. I really like bright, punchy, warm solid colours, the look and feel of knits and purls, I really enjoy knitting basic necessities like hats, scarves, and mitts. I have an eye for things that are simple and cute. Have you ever stopped in the yarn isle and look at all the pretty coloured yarn, and envision what they might grow up to be? I love variety! When I knit a pair of mitts in one colour, I have to knit 10 more in 10 differerent colours!

I've realized that in order to share my love for knitting, I would need to share my knitting in photographic form. Next on my wish list? Digital camera! So far I've been borrowing my roommate's camera. Further down on my wish list: yarn... yarn.... yarn... circular needles? .... yarn :)

I like using acyric and wool, and stuff with part wool and acrylic. I'm still a bit green on the ranking of wool. I am currently using Patons Merino and Lionbrand wool. Care to suggest any step up wool from that? I have discovered some many styles and soft textured acrylic yarn. Bernat's Improved softness worsted wool is pretty nice and impressive. I've been eyeing at some Debbie Bliss and Knit Picks yarn. I would need to order them online, but it would be fun to try those one day.

With my obsession with knitting, I've now got a whole pile of knitted goods! So I decided to start an ebay store, Knit n Stuff. Feel free to pop over there some time. I look forward to sharing my upcoming knitting escapades.

Here a photo of my cat and some of my knitting.
